Goat karahi is one of my favorite dishes and kind of hard to find around these parts. Chaska makes it well, and we also really enjoyed our egg plant curry and spinach curries. But, and I think others have alluded to this, this place is pretty slow and you have to be prepared to wait. Fine if your'e not in a rush or starving but you should know ahead of time. All that being said, this place would probably be great for takeout/delivery where I think the slowness is less of an issue. I'd certainly go back and deal with the wait, I'd just come with that baked in.

Food tastes good and the restaurant always clean and tidy Meat portions are very small, it really needs to get a bit bigger. Chx Tandoori has too much food coloring, which is a bit offsetting, But it tastes good. Using paprika, Kashmiri red chili powder or deggi mirch to achieve colorful Tandoori is by far much pleasing to the eyes and tastier. Due to the lay out, the dinning area is bit stuffy, a stronger vents or open back door may improve it greatly. Service is fast but lacks small details like clean empty dishes and table quickly No check to the table which is a little odd for full service restaurant. Recommend it and will go back.

We recently celebrated my mom's birthday at Chaska Restaurant in San Francisco, and I can't recommend this place enough! It's a family-owned restaurant, and you can feel the personal touch in everything they do. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel right at home. Our waiter greeted us warmly and provided some amazing recommendations from the menu. Every dish was phenomenal; with authentic Indian flavors that exceeded our expectations. We were blown away by how generous the portions were for the price, and everything was packed with flavor. What made the evening even more special was the personal touch from the owner. She came to our table, greeted us, and wished my mom a happy birthday! Even with the language barrier, my mom can feel her compassion. It was such a thoughtful gesture, and I noticed she made time to connect with other customers as well. At the end of the meal, they surprised my mom with a complimentary dessert for her birthday, which made her night even more memorable - especially as it was her first time trying Indian food, and I'm so happy she loved it! You can tell that a lot of heart has gone into every aspect of this restaurant from the food to the décor to the attentive service. It really reflects the care that the owner and her family put into their business. * I wish more people would come out and eat out with their loved ones more, it seems people are so busy working that they have fewer opportunities to slow down and take an hour to eat and talk together. *I noticed more people come and take out, but please come by and have a memorable experience here like we did at Chaska! Support a local business that truly values its customers. Delicious food, a warm atmosphere, and the welcoming nature make people feel instantly at home - what more can we ask for?

I was craving mango lassi and decided to check out Chaska Indian and Pakistani restaurant. I'm sorry for the lack of photos--it was so delicious I didn't even have time to take any! The **mango lassi** was one of the best I've had, perfectly sweet and refreshing. The **tandoori chicken** was incredibly smoky and tender, and the **chicken tikka masala** was flavorful and perfectly spiced. My only wish is that there had been more chicken! Overall, everything was delicious, and I'll definitely be coming back to try more dishes. This place is a must-try!

i just ordered from Chawla for a second time and this place is fantastic. Danny the owner delivered the food himself and is a just a very pleasant person. the food itself was really delicious. the ground meat (keema) tastes so authentic. the goat biryani was addictive: they even took personal asks into consideration. i asked them to make the bbq chicken ie tandoori chicken completely non spiced for the kids and they obliged definitely recommend this pakistani place for dine in

Random save that we wanted to explore and my goodness was it so good. Upbeat music fill the room, and pleasant looking leis surround the interior. Servers are SO friendly. I think this place seems like it's owned by a family, but that is a guess. The food here is extraordinary! The chicken tikka masala is just BURSTING WITH FLAVOR. It's addicting. Addicting to the point my stomach BURSTS at its seams to want more. Service is very friendly as they tried to explain alllll the different items on their menu! They were very kind to explain things to an ignorant person like meeee. The aloo naan has much aloo. The garlic naan, just get it with that butter. BUTTER ME UP!!!!!! Yessir. Yes mam. Yes you. Butter that thang. Price is affordable for sure. They have a lunch special that I wish I could have tried because I LOVE gulab jamun. Next time. .... Actually, live update. As I wrote this review, in the restaurant, I ordered it. This filled up two people soo much. As you can see, not much to hide from my reviews. Just to be aware, even if you say mild, there is a little kick. But this place is so so so so good. As you can see from our plates, nothing is left.

Very welcoming, spacious and great food at reasonable prices! Will definitely come back snd recommend this place!

This restaurant is located right in the heart of Richmond district. There are plenty of metered parking spots in front and around the restaurant. If you're taking public transit, bus #38 Geary stops a block and half away from this establishment. The banner for this restaurant doesn't really stand out. It's located right next to a tattoo place. A friendly waiter greeted us right away upon entering this mom and pop restaurant. They do have an extensive menu. We ordered the chicken thali, steamed chicken momo, and the chicken tikka thali. The chicken thali and the chicken tikka thali are set meals, which came with basmati rice, plain naan, salad, and hot chai tea. The chicken thali had chicken curry and chana masala. The chicken tikka thali had chicken tikka masala and aloo saag. Both of these thali meals were $15.99 each, which is fairly reasonable. The steamed chicken momos were hot when they got to our table. They were so flavorful that we didn't really need to add much sauce to them. We waited for our food for around 25 minutes, which it was kind of long especially when we were the only customers there. However, it was totally worth the wait. All the food were freshly prepared with fresh ingredients, and they were very flavorful. They also gave generous portions. They sure take pride in their cooking. The waiter also provided excellent service. We will be back to try their tandoori and biryani.

Chaska Restaurant was almost a nod to earlier days: excellent service accompanied by delicious Indian food served in a simply decorated, intimate, and slightly charming space. The fact that I was also holding an expired Groupon (amount paid never expires) made the whole dining experience feel that much more well-priced and that - in addition to all of the above - is my happy place. Chaska Restaurant was a wholly happy experience. Lamb Biryani, shared by my party of two, was ample and topped with fried garlic flakes, a sign that someone in the kitchen knows what tastes good. A red curry paneer was equally delicious and, with the sauciness of the dish, practically begging for some naan with which to enjoy every spoonful. I left Chaska, got home, and purchased another Groupon which says a few things: I like a great deal, I can't wait to eat here again, and I want to sample far more widely from that menu than I did on this visit. Chaska; it's worthy of several return visits.
